Congratulations to Tysen Lefebvre who reached his goal of raising $1million for Make a Wish Foundation. Tysen set out on his mission five years ago to grant 100 wishes for kids living with critical and life-threatening illnesses. Talk about commitment!
In 2012, Tysen, who battles Pfeiffer received his wish to meet his favourite celebrity, actor Adam Sandler. This life-changing experience motivated Tysen to give back. So in 2013, he launched Tysen’s Mission to a Million . Since the launch Tysen has held countless events and been supported by many local businesses, residents and friends. His dedication and perseverance has paid off!
Tysen has received a number of accolades recognizing his efforts; in 2012 Tysen received the Mayor’s City Builder Award, a civic honour created to recognize an individual, group or organization that has, through outstanding volunteerism or exemplary action, demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to making our city a better place today and for the future. He was also winner of Chatelaine’s 2015 “Me to We” He was the recipient of one of the world’s 100 young visionary leaders in the “Real Leaders” magazine’s publication of its Young Real Leaders 2016 list, Max Keeping Award for Courage at The Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards and Governor General’s Sovereign Medal for Volunteers in 2017.
