On Saturday June 9th from 10:00-2:00, the Canadian Liver Foundation (CLF) is proud to present the 12th Annual 2018 Stroll for Liver at Vincent Massey Park.
The stroll will start at 11:30am and will be followed by a liver healthy lunch, family entertainment and activities and an awards ceremony. At 11:15, Mayor Jim Watson will address the participants before the stroll begins.
The CLF’s Annual “Stroll for Liver” is a family event where people of all ages can walk in support of families living with liver disease in their community.
Residents are invited to attend or participate as walkers to raise pledges in support of liver research and local education to raise awareness and improve early diagnosis and treatment of Canadians living with liver disease.
The liver plays a critical role in maintaining the overall health. Getting involved in physical activities is a great way to keep this vital organ healthy. By taking a stroll, you can take control of your liver health and, you may actually help reduce your risk of developing not only liver disease but also other health conditions including diabetes and heart disease.
Individual and team participation in a Stroll for Liver is FUN and EASY! Everyone is welcome – adults, kids, athletes, or people just looking to enjoy some camaraderie and exercise. Team members can include staff members, friends, family, students or community members.
Beyond the fundraising stroll, this event offers a liver-healthy lunch, kids entertainment and the opportunity to hear from families touched by liver disease.
Please consider attending and supporting this important fundraising event!
