Richmond is celebrating the 200th anniversary of its founding this year and its history over this period will be the topic of the Goulbourn Township Historical Society’s June 9th meeting.
The guest speaker will be Stittsville’s own John Curry, author of the book “Richmond on the Jock” which was published in 1993 on the occasion of Richmond’s 175th anniversary.
John promises that the afternoon will be filled with Richmond history that you will both enjoy and find informative. You will just have to plan to attend to discover.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Richmond Legion Hall on Ottawa Street in Richmond. Everyone is welcome and like all Historical Society monthly meetings, it will be free and there will be refreshments served!
Stop by for another great informative evening!
Then, mark your calendars for the June 15th to 18th weekend where the GTHS will be participating in the 200th Anniversary celebration of the founding of the Town of Richmond. Come and participate with GTHS and the Town of Richmond in walking tours, historical trolley tours, costumed interpreters, and much more.
