This week, Planning Committee heard from Steve Willis, General Manager of Ottawa’s Planning department, who was on hand to deliver a presentation about what the department has achieved over the last year and to tell us about the work plan for the remainder of this Term of Council.
The report shows an increase in the number of planning applications received in 2017. Excluding policy applications and City-initiated applications, Planning Services received 1,044 applications – as compared to 1,002 in 2016 and 848 in 2015. While Planning staff dealt with 906 of these applications under delegated authority, Planning Committee, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee and City Council dealt with the remaining 138 applications.
