On Saturday, June 3rd – National Cancer Survivors Weekend – thousands of families in the Ottawa area will be participating in the biggest lemonade stand fundraiser in Canada.
The 5th annual Lemonade Standemonium is a fun-filled fundraiser where kids host drink stands in their neighbourhood, all while raising funds and awareness for cancer care and research. 100% of the funds you
raise will help local families in our community who are impacted by cancer. Over the last five years, thousands of families have participated and raised more than $280,000.
This year funds raised will support innovative cancer research and clinical trials and be invested in providing Cancer Coaching to families who are facing cancer.
As part of the fundraiser, on June 3rd Cardel will be hosting the Lemonade Standemonium in the Park in Blackstone Park. This event will run from 11:00-3:00 where last year’s number one fundraiser, Maddy’s Lemonade Stand, will be selling lemonade and homemade treats to raise funds for the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre and cancer coaching. Face Painting and games will be available for kids, the Ottawa Dog Rescue will be on site for part of the day with some of the dogs available for adoption and representatives from CIBC will be hosting a BBQ.
I hope that all residents make it out for a great day to spend some time with your neighbours in the park and support a great cause!
I would like to invite all kids in our community to participate and open their own stands to help raise awareness of this worthy cause. Kids/families can host their stands anytime between now and June 3rd and registration is now open at ottawacancer.ca/lemonade.
