I would like to let residents know about three great musical events with very Canadian themes taking place this May from some of our local choirs.
Goulbourn Jubilee Singers
The Goulbourn Jubilee Singers and the GJS Teens and Junior Jubilees in collaboration with Picton’s Command Performance Choir are proud to present “Made in Canada”. On May 6th at 7:30 PM and May 7th at 2:00 PM, the singers will take the stage at the Trinity Presbyterian Church (1817 Richardson Side Rd) for the world premiere of 3 original compositions by Ottawa composers: Stephen Eisenhauer, Laura Hawley and James Wright.
Tickets are $15 for adults and seniors and $10 for youth.

West Ottawa Ladies’ Chorus
On May 13th, the West Ottawa Ladies Chorus’ will celebrate Canada’s waterways, its diverse peoples, looming mountains and vast plains in their spring concert – “Sea to Sea to Sea – Celebrating Canadian Music”.
In three and four part harmony the chorus will celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday through song.
The concert will be held on May 13th at the Glen Cairn United Church, 140 Abbeyhill Drive, Kanata at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door (children under 12 get in free). Ticket and contact information is also available at www.westottawaladieschorus.ca
Ottawa Carleton Choristers and Ottawa Police Chorus
Also on Saturday, May 13th, you can hear the wonderful voices of the Ottawa Carleton Choristers and the Ottawa Police Chorus in “Canada 150: Something to Sing About!”
The performance takes places at 7:30 at the Woodroffe United Church (207 Woodroffe Ave). Admission is by donation and there will be a light dessert reception following the show.
