I am happy to let resident know about a local event taking place Sunday, March 26th at Sacred Heart High School.
Stittsville’s Pointe of Grace Dance Company is holding its fifth annual Dance 4 Wishes Showcase at Sacred Heart High School. There will be two performances for this fundraising event – a Junior show at 1:00 p.m. and a Senior show at 5:30 p.m.
Pointe of Grace is teaming up once again with Tysen Lefebvre and will be donating net proceeds from the event to Tysen’s Mission to Million in support of Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario. Make-A-Wish Eastern Ontario a non-profit charitable organization that grants wishes to ill children with life-threatening medical conditions. To date, Tysen has raised more than $500,000 towards his goal of $1 million.
Over the past four years, Pointe of Grace’s Dance 4 Wishes shows have raised more than $40,000 for the cause. Last April, members of the studio’s junior competitive team were on hand with Tysen as he revealed to 15-year-old Daijah that her wish to go to Vancouver was being granted. The team’s dancers took part in a flash mob and then unfurled a large banner telling Daijah her wish was going to come true.
A limited number of tickets for Dance 4 Wishes will be on sale at the door of Sacred Heart High School, located at 5870 Abbott Street, on March 26. They can also be purchased in advance by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Tickets are $10 per show. Pointe of Grace dancers can come see a show for $5.
