I would like to take a moment to remind residents to be conscious when leaving their black bins (paper and cardboard) out for curbside collection on windy days.
Oftentimes, residents will notice papers and cardboard flying down their street before collectors arrive. On anticipated windy days, try to avoid leaving black bins out the night before. You can also try weighing down your cardboard with a heavy object or stacking your items vertically instead of piled upward. This makes it much harder for the wind to catch items and blow them down the street. Large boxes that do not fit in the black box can also be broken down and placed under it.
Remember to be courteous to your neighbours and do your part wherever you can.
