Stittsville Hydro Work Update

Hello residents. I wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some updates I received from Hydro Ottawa this week.

Stittsville Main St:

All underground construction is now completed and all customers should now be on the new 28Kv circuit.

The overhead lines are now dead and Hydro Ottawa will be beginning to remove the overhead wires next week. Unfortunately, as Rogers is still on a few of the poles, Hydro Ottawa will only be able to cut the poles down to the Rogers cable. Rogers will be performing some excavation in the Spring and at that time, will share a duct in the Hydro Ottawa structure to avoid any more digging.

Abbott St:

The new hydro poles will have the wires installed and energized in approximately 2 weeks. There will be 3-4 days of civil construction at the pole risers at Granite Ridge taking place today into next week.

The 2 phases of Springbrook and Granite Ridge are still scheduled to begin in June.

Granite Ridge Dr:

There will be some more cable to install and the removal of the pedestal at Abbott including the removal of the large switch from the customer’s yard at 44 Feldspar Crescent.
