Congratulations to Stittsvile Public School parent council who, earlier this month, was awarded $2,800 from the City of Ottawa’s Community Environmental Projects Grant Program (CEPGP) for the Stittsville Public School Outdoor Classroom project.
The deadline for 2017 applications is March 31, 2017, at 4:00 p.m.
The Community Environmental Projects Grant Program (CEPGP) provides funding to non-profit organizations interested in undertaking small-scale, community-based initiatives that support the City of Ottawa’s environmental stewardship priorities. Projects should focus on Environmental Stewardship in the areas of:
- Improving stormwater management
- Enhancing and protecting natural systems
- Reducing environmental impact
Project examples that reflect the City’s ‘environmental stewardship’ goals could include:
- Stream protection and rehabilitation
- Invasive species removal
- Species-at-risk/ ecosystem monitoring or protection
- Environmental awareness and education
- Recycling or composting
- Energy or water conservation
- Renewable energy
- Cycling, walking and sustainable transportation
