Stittsville Public School Parent Council Awarded Environmental Grant


Congratulations to Stittsvile Public School parent council who, earlier this month, was awarded $2,800 from the City of Ottawa’s Community Environmental Projects Grant Program (CEPGP) for the Stittsville Public School Outdoor Classroom project.


The deadline for 2017 applications is March 31, 2017, at 4:00 p.m.

The Community Environmental Projects Grant Program (CEPGP) provides funding to non-profit organizations interested in undertaking small-scale, community-based initiatives that support the City of Ottawa’s environmental stewardship priorities. Projects should focus on Environmental Stewardship in the areas of:

  • Improving stormwater management
  • Enhancing and protecting natural systems
  • Reducing environmental impact

Project examples that reflect the City’s ‘environmental stewardship’ goals could include:

  • Stream protection and rehabilitation
  • Invasive species removal
  • Species-at-risk/ ecosystem monitoring or protection
  • Environmental awareness and education
  • Recycling or composting
  • Energy or water conservation
  • Renewable energy
  • Cycling, walking and sustainable transportation

Applications should be typewritten and be no more than five pages in length. You can also contact the CEPGP Co-ordinator for a word version of the application form.
