With September just around the corner, I couldn’t be more pleased to inform all of you that come Fall 2016, the Fernbank/Liard intersection will be home to an Adult Crossing Guard!
In listening to community feedback over the last number of years, I’m happy to see that upon my request, City Staff have reviewed the intersection and recommended the implementation of the Adult Crossing Guard program for this location. Back to school is always an exciting time of year, and ensuring that Stittsville youth are safe when walking to and from school makes it even better.
This is great news as it benefits students of both Guardian Angels Elementary School and Westwind Public School. I thank all residents who have expressed their thoughts to me regarding this intersection, and appreciate your vested interest in keeping the youth in our community safe.
