I would like to take a moment and encourage all residents to keep the Yakabuski family in their thoughts as well as lend their support to an upcoming fundraiser.
On the 21st of May, Mark Yakabuski was thrown from his golf cart resulting in a serious spinal injury. Over a long period of time and with extensive rehab/care his friends and family are hopeful he will regain movement.
Mark cares for his wife and 3 athletic sons. They, along with their extensive network of friends are looking to raise funds to help the family through the coming months of rehab and potential accommodations to his home. Oftentimes, this type of injury requires a large amount of financial commitment.
A fundraiser will be taking place Saturday, June 25th at the Johnny Leroux Arena beginning at 7:00 PM. Further details and tickets are available at www.yakstrong.com. While there, you can also purchase a t-shirt or hat that reflects Mark’s passion for the game of hockey with all proceeds also going to the Yakabuski family. To send positive thoughts or questions about the fundraiser, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
It is showings of community togetherness like these that help make Stittsville a wonderful place to live. I would like to wish Mark and his family a swift recovery and encourage all residents to share their support with the Yakabuski family in this difficult time.
