The City of Ottawa partnered with the three Conservation Authorities in the city to update the flood plain mapping in the Official Plan and Zoning By-law.
Mapping is based on the most accurate information available regarding the elevation of lands adjacent to watercourses and helps determine where development can occur.
A detailed map showing the current and proposed boundaries of the flood plain overlay in the Zoning By-law is now available and individual properties are searchable.
The proposed boundaries for the flood plain will be presented in a report to Planning Committee, Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee and City Council in April 2016.
